What's the minimum internet speed required?
The quality of your VPORT experience depends heavily on your internet connection. Different playback modes demand different bandwidth levels, so it is important to make sure your connection meets the minimum requirements before starting a show.
Speed requirements by playback mode
Window mode (2D) requires a minimum of 25 Mbps. This is the least demanding mode and works well on most modern broadband connections. It is the mode used on iPhones, iPads, and web browsers.
Spatial mode (MV-HEVC) requires a minimum of 50 Mbps. Spatial content delivers stereoscopic 3D video, which requires roughly double the bandwidth of standard Window mode.
Immersive mode (360-degree 8K) requires a recommended speed of 100 Mbps or higher. This is the most bandwidth-intensive mode, streaming high-resolution 360-degree video that surrounds you completely. Anything below 100 Mbps may result in buffering or reduced quality.
How to test your speed
Before starting a show, test your connection speed at fast.com to confirm you meet the minimum requirements for your chosen playback mode.
Tips for the best experience
A wired ethernet connection provides the most stable and reliable experience, especially for Immersive mode. If you are using Apple Vision Pro wirelessly, a WiFi 6 or WiFi 6E router is recommended to maintain the high throughput needed for spatial and immersive content. During viewing, close any other streaming apps or active downloads on your network to free up bandwidth and reduce the chance of interruptions.
