My video upload failed -- what do I do?

If your video upload failed on VPORT, don't worry. Most upload failures are caused by a handful of common issues that are easy to diagnose and fix.

Check your file format

VPORT supports the following video formats: MP4, MOV, MV-HEVC, and ProRes. If your file is in a different format, you will need to convert it before uploading. Most professional video editors can export to one of these supported formats.

Verify your internet connection

Video uploads can be very large, especially for 360-degree content which can exceed 10 GB. An unstable or slow connection is one of the most frequent causes of upload failures. Try uploading a smaller test file first to rule out connection issues. If the test file succeeds, the problem is likely related to your connection dropping during the larger upload.

Clear your browser cache

Sometimes cached data can interfere with the upload process. Clear your browser cache and try the upload again. If you are using the VPORT app instead of the web interface, make sure you have updated to the latest version, as older versions may contain bugs that have since been fixed.

Verify your file is not corrupted

Before re-uploading, try playing the file locally on your computer. If it won't play or shows errors, the file itself may be corrupted and will need to be re-exported from your editing software.
